Objectives: | On completion of this subject students should be able to:

Content: | This subject is designed to introduce students to both Primary and Secondary schools in the Victorian Education system and the role of teachers within these institutions, and to provide specialist teaching experience under the guidance of a supervising teacher or teachers. The subject will involve: ten days induction in a Primary school; five days induction in a Secondary school; fifteen days initial teaching experience at a particular class level (Primary) or specialist teaching or experience in particular teaching areas (Secondary); twenty days specialist teaching experience under the guidance of a supervising teacher or teachers in a designated Primary or Secondary school, during which students will be expected to take on greater responsibility for planning and implementing classes. | |
Assessment: | 50 days of supervised school experience (100%). | |
