Objectives: | On completion of this subject students should be able to:

Content: | Economic growth and development with particular reference to Third World economies. Topics will include: relevant models as a framework for the study of development problems; agriculture; financing of development; population; technological progress; industrialisation; and the role and influence of government. Both domestic and international issues are considered. | |
Assessment: | Examination (60%); an essay (40%). | |
