Objectives: | On completion of this subject students should be able to:

Content: | Agency theory, accounting concepts and standards and their application to accounting reports. Topics include: accounting theory development, accounting regulation, and an examination of specific accounting issues. | |
Assessment: | Minor assignments (10%); tutorial exercises and participation (10%); a 1-hour mid-year test (10%) and a final 2-hour examination (70%). Students must perform satisfactorily in each area of assessment and submit all exercises and assignments. | |
