Objectives: | On completion of this subject students should be able to:

Content: | This subject analyses the strategic management of both the business unit and the single business firm. It examines the roles and responsibilities of the general manager as the person responsible for the effectiveness of the overall enterprise. The subject emphasises the application, execution and framing of responses to multi-dimensional managerial problems. Students will be exposed to the theory and practice of strategy and will be required to understand what strategic content is and how it is implemented. Implications for firm growth, governance, design and prospects will be analysed. | |
Assessment: | One 2-hour end of semester examination (70%) and class assignments of up to 3000 words (30%). | |
