920-371 Hindi RHL-2 (Readings in Hindi Literature)

Three hours of lectures per week

Content:

Authors from the 15th century to the present are studied. Students read a short novel and excerpts from medieval and modern Hindi poets. Hindi is spoken where possible in class discussions.

Assessment:

One 1000-word essay (20%), 10 short weekly essays (minimum of 150 words) (20%), one 1-hour class presentation in Hindi (20%) and one 3-hour examination (40%).
