920-264 Vietnamese Advanced Language 2A

Five hours per week: 3 hours of lectures, one 1-hour tutorial and one 1-hour practical class

Content:

This subject focuses on the history and characteristics of Vietnamese linguistics with particular attention being paid to the styles of written Vietnamese. The literature and social changes during the period of French domination from 1862 to 1945 are also studied.

Assessment:

One 2000-word assignment (30%); one book review of 1500-words (20%); 15-minute oral presentation (20%); and one 3-hour examination (30%).
