920-163 Vietnamese Introductory Language 1B

A pass in Vietnamese Introductory Language 1A or an approved equivalent standard.

Five hours per week: three hours of lectures and 2-hours of practical language classes

Content:

This subject is a continuation of Vietnamese Introductory Language 1A. It further extends the speaking skills of students in informal daily life situations. Culturally it considers Vietnamese traditions and cultural values and pays particular attention to literature prior to 1945.

Assessment:

One 1500-word book review (20%); one 1500-word assignment (20%); one 1-hour written test (35%); and one 2-hour oral exam (25% - including a role play in small groups, a short dialogue in Vietnamese and a multiple choice aural-oral test).
