Six hours per week: two 1-hour lectures, three 1-hour tutorials and one 1-hour practical class

Subject Description:

This subject teaches students the correct pronunciation of the sounds and to read and write the Devanagari script used in Hindi. It introduces students to the basic structures of the language and places the language in appropriate social and cultural contexts.

Assessment:

Weekly written exercises (40%), one 1-hour oral/aural test (20%), one 3-hour examination (40%).
