920-110 Spanish 2B-2: Practical Spanish and Introduction to Spanish and Latin American Culture

Four hours a week: one 1-hour lecture, one 1-hour tutorial and two 1-hour practical classes

Content:

This subject continues to emphasise performance in the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing but on a more advanced level 2B-1. It contains elements relating to practical language acquisition and the study of Spanish and Latin American culture through film and text.

Assessment:

End of semester 2-hour written test (25%); written exercises (35%); one 1500 word essay (10%); oral/aural practical work (30% - Aural comprehension & transcription exercises: 10%; reading performance & comprehension: 10%; oral production & pronunciation exercises: 10%).
