Content:

A comprehensive introduction to contemporary Vietnamese, written and oral/aural, for students with little or no knowledge of the language. Teaching will involve large and small group work, the use of audio-visual equipment, language laboratory classes as well as lectures and seminars in aspects of Vietnamese cultural heritage.

Assessment:

Continuous oral, aural and written exercises (40%); one 1500 word essay in English on cultural aspects (20%); end-of-semester written exam (20%); oral/aural exam (20%).
