920-105 Spanish 1B-2: Introduction to Practical Spanish

Five hours per week: one 1-hour lecture and 4-hours of practical classes

Content:

This subject continues to emphasise the acquisition of Spanish through a communicative approach to language learning but on a more advanced level than Spanish 1B-1. Throughout the semester, cultural aspects of the Hispanic world are incorporated into the language classes.

Assessment:

End of semester 1.5-hour written test (30%); course work consisting of tests and written exercises (20%); and oral work (50% reading performance and comprehension 10%; oral summaries of written and audiovisual materials 10%; production and presentation of role play dialogues 10%; general conversation 10%; transcription exercises 5%; pronunciation exercises 5%).
