Subject Description: | This subject offers an examination of the relationship between particular ethnic and indigenous communities, and the practices and institutions of the criminal justice system. It explores different theoretical perspectives on the processes of victimisation and criminalisation as these affect specific groups, and examines specific issues such as racism, differential policing, access to justice and law reform. | |
Assessment: | Up to 5000 words of written work at 3rd year level and 6000 words at 4th year level. An examination may be substituted for part of the written work. | |
