Subject Description: | Understanding conceptions of crime and criminal liability; the structure of the criminal process; the role of criminal law and legal reasoning in the interpretation and regulation of behaviour; analysing the phenomena of criminalisation and de-criminalisation; understanding the framework and general principles of criminal law (with reference to specific offences); developing skills of legal research and interpreting legal sources. | |
Assessment: | Up to 5000 words of written work. An examination may be substituted for part of the written work. | |
