Objectives: | This subject aims to provide students with a sound foundation in the language with particular emphasis on listening and speaking. On completion of the subject students should be able to communicate in the language in everyday situations, understand slightly more complex speech, read simple texts and write short compositions. | |
Content: | Lexical, grammatical, phonological and syntactical elements taught in situational contexts using multimedia materials. Emphasis on developing communicative competence. | |
Assessment: | Oral and written daily class exercises; 2 oral class presentations; two 1-hour tests and one 2-hour test. | |
