Subject Description:

An investigation of the phonological, grammatical and semantic features of Australian Aboriginal languages through the study of a particular language against the background of research on Australian languages generally. Languages studied in previous years have included Kayardild (Qld), Mayali (N.T.), Yawurru and Nyulnyul (both W.A.).

Assessment:

Four assignments and an essay totalling no more than 5000 words at 3rd year level and 6000 words at 4th year level.
