Prerequisite/s:

50 points completed in Computer Science subjects, or by permission of the subject convener. This unit cannot be taken by those who have completed Introduction to the Study of Language I and/or Introduction to the Study of Language II.

Two lectures and one tutorial each week

Subject Description:

An introduction to linguistic analysis and representation with a focus on issues and problems in the computational modelling of natural language (understanding, generation and translation).

Assessment:

Assignments and an end of semester take home exam, totalling 5000 words.
