161-243/343 Metaphysics and the Nature of God

Prerequisite/s:

One first-year single-semester Philosophy subject. Students who lack this prerequisite, but believe themselves adequately prepared to attempt any second/third year subjects, should consult the Head of Department.

Subject Description:

Contemporary metaphysics and its bearing on the nature of God. Students will develop an understanding of the issues raised in the course, and the ability to argue for relevant conclusions in an alert and well-informed way.

Assessment:

One 2-hour end-of-semester examination (50 %) and an assignment of no more than 3000 words (50 %).
