Subject Description: | In this subject, students will develop an appreciation of the relevance of philosophy to issues of public concern by attention to three significant and controversial areas of debate: (1) the rights of parents and of children; (2) ethics in political life; and (3) the morality of war. | |
Assessment: | One 2-hour end-of-semester examination (50 %) and two essays of 1500 words each (25 % each). | |
