Subject Description: | Major classical texts in aesthetics and major topics in medieval, 18th century and 20th century aesthetics will be studied. The subject will confront students with the dominant ideas in different historical periods concerning art and the aesthetic, and assist them in responding to these ideas with critical awareness. | |
Assessment: | One 2-hour end-of-semester examination (50 %) and an assignment of no more than 3000 words (50 %). | |
