158-428 Advanced Translation Project

Subject Description:

An independent English translation of Japanese text equivalent to 6000 words.

Assessment:

Students submit an English translation of a Japanese text chosen by the student and approved by the Course Coordinator. The main assessment criterion is that students should demonstrate a clear understanding of the Japanese text through lucidly expressed English paraphrase; a word-by-word translation is not acceptable.
