Subject Description: | The subject consists of three weekly sessions, one devoted to the development of reading skills through daily newspapers and the other to spoken skills through discussion. One hour per week is spent in the computer lab. | |
Assessment: | Second and Third Years: Assignments and quizzes totalling not more than 2500 words in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes). Fourth Year: Assignments and quizzes totalling not more than 2500 words in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes); one translation exercise (equivalent to not more than 1000 words in written work). Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examinations. | |
