Subject Description:

This subject emphasises interpreting and translation skills. On conclusion of the subject students will be able to translate more complex Chinese and documentary Chinese texts than those studied in Chinese 4A, and will be able to discuss the contents of those texts in Chinese.

Assessment:

Second and Third Years: One oral examination (20 minutes); one written examination (3 hours); classwork to a maximum of 1500 words. Fourth Year: One oral examination (20 minutes); one written examination (3 hours); classwork to a maximum of 2500 words. All students will be required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examinations.
