Subject Description:

An advanced subject in written and spoken Chinese. On conclusion of the subject students will be able to translate newspaper Chinese and documentary Chinese texts, and will be able to discuss the contents of these texts in Chinese.

Assessment:

Second and Third Years: One oral examination (10 minutes); one written examination (2 hours); classwork to a maximum of 1500 words. Fourth Year: One oral examination (10 minutes); one written examination (2 hours); classwork to a maximum of 2500 words. All students will be required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examinations.
