Subject Description:

A further study in spoken and written Japanese; oral/aural work will be incorporated in classroom activities. Students will be expected to learn 100+ new characters and will be encouraged to learn them with the assistance of computers.

Assessment:

Regular assignments and quizzes totalling not more than 3500 words (1st year level) or 2500 words (2nd year level) in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes). Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examinations.
