Subject Description:

An advanced subject in Chinese language and literature for students who have passed Standard Chinese 3A. At the conclusion of this subject students will be able to speak Mandarin with an acceptable standard accent. They will be able to read a variety of extracts from both classical and modern Chinese literature. They will have improved their ability to write Standard Chinese in a variety of styles.

Assessment:

One oral examination (20 minutes); one written examination (3 hours); homework to a maximum of 2500 words. Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination.
