Subject Description: | An advanced subject in Chinese language and literature for students who are literate in Mandarin Chinese. On conclusion of the course students should be able to speak Mandarin with an acceptable standard accent. They will have some knowledge of both classical and modern Chinese literature and will be able to write Modern Standard Chinese in an acceptable style. | |
Assessment: | One oral examination (20 minutes); regular tests (maximum 2500 words); homework to a maximum of 2500 words. Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination. | |
