Objectives: | By the end of the subject students will have acquired a knowledge of Chinese civilisation through the study of relevant source materials. This will provide them with the background knowledge for advanced studies in Chinese language. | |
Content: | An introductory subject on China. Examines major themes in Chinese civilisation and their role in Chinese life today. | |
Assessment: | One 2000 word tutorial paper (50%) and one 2-hour examination (50%). | |
