Subject Description:

The student selects a topic in Indonesian language, linguistics, literature, or another appropriate topic in Indonesian/Malaysian studies in consultation with the coordinator. The student will acquire a specialist understanding of the subject being studied. He or she will learn to conduct independent research and to use Indonesian (or Malay/Malaysian) language sources for purposes of research.

Assessment:

A 12,000 word thesis.
