One 1.5 hour lecture and one 1.5 hour tutorial per week

Subject Description:

Students will be trained (1) to hold sophisticated discussions in Indonesian about issues ranging from matters of everyday life to historical developments and social, political and cultural phenomena in Indonesia; (2) to express their ideas about these topics in essays in standard written Indonesian. They will read a variety of Indonesian socio-historical, political and literary texts.

Assessment:

Written assignments totalling 4000 words, plus one 2-hour written examination.
