150-185/285/385/485 Creative Writing in Modern Greek

Subject Description:

Analysis, practice and critical discussion of creative writing of various kinds. Modern Greek grammar, semantics and lexicon at an appropriate level. Students enrolled in 150-185 will also study the socio-cultural context and historical background to contemporary usage.

Assessment:

150-185: A folio of up to 2500 words comprising a selection of the student's own creative writing in Modern Greek (55 %); a critical essay of up to 1500 words on an aspect of creative writing (20 %); an essay of up to 2000 words on the socio-cultural context and historical background to contemporary Greek usage (25 %). 150-285/385: A folio of up to 3500 words comprising a selection of the students' own creative writing in Modern Greek (80%); a critical essay of up to 1500 words on an aspect of creative writing (20%). 150-485: A folio of up to 4500 words comprising a selection of the student's own creative writing in Modern Greek (80%); a critical essay of up to 1500 words on an aspect of creative writing (20%).
