None. No knowledge of Indonesian is assumed at the beginning of this subject.

Subject Description:

An intensive subject developing the ability to speak, read and write Indonesian. Students will learn basic vocabulary and sentence patterns enabling them to communicate at a very simple level and will have acquired basic knowledge about the Indonesian society and culture.

Assessment:

Continuous assessment: oral and written assignments totalling not more than 3000 words; and, at the end of the semester, one 2 hour written examination, a short aural comprehension test, and a 10 minute oral examination.
