Objectives:

Students completing this subject should:

  • demonstrate an understanding of, and ability to think critically about the shaping of technologies and scientific knowledge claims by social, political and historical forces.

Content:

Examines theoretical/conceptual frame-works within which science, technology and society can be analysed. A series of case studies in science and technology studied in their Australian, international and cross-cultural social and political contexts.

Assessment:

Written work of up to 5000 words.
