Objectives:

By the end of the subject students should be able to:

  • understand the principles and problems of translation;

  • translate from Russian into English complex non-technical texts;

  • translate from English into Russian texts of medium difficulty.

Content:

Linguistic and literary theory of translation; practical translation from Russian at an advanced level.

Assessment:

By assignments totalling up to 5000 words.
