Objectives:

By the end of the subject the students should be able to:

  • understand the theory of syntactic analysis and description and its application to Russian;

  • analyse and describe Russian sentences of any complexity.

Content:

Parts of speech, sentence-types and the general syntactic structure of Modern Russian. Theoretical topics and practical analysis.

Assessment:

By regular assignments totalling up to 5000 words.
