Prerequisite/s:

Applicants must meet the entry requirements for admission to the Faculty of Arts.

Semester 1

Contact:

Five classes a week, including an hour in the language laboratory

Objectives:

Students who complete this subject should:

  • At the conclusion of the subject the students should have: a basic understanding of the Swedish language; developed skills in the integrated use of Swedish in spoken and written form; developed a thorough knowledge of the principal grammatical structures of the Swedish language; achieved the level of language competency required for admittance into Beginners Swedish B.

Content:

An introduction to the Swedish language with emphasis on oral and reading skills.

Assessment:

Written work and language tests of nor more than 4000 words.
