Objectives: | After completing this subject, the student should:

Content: | The history, nature and value of research; sources of geographical data; field survey techniques; methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis; presentation and interpretation of geographical data; computer-assisted procedures for analysis of geographical data including Internet searching and introductory geographical information systems. | |
Assessment: | One 1.5-hour examination, ten weekly practical class exercises equivalent to a total of 1000 words and a project report of up to 2500 words. Weightings of components of assessment will be advised at the commencement of the subject. | |
