Objectives: | Students completing this subject should:

Content: | Changing patterns of plant and animal distributions in the Late Quaternary. Reconstruction and interpretation of past environments through pollen analysis. Climate change, human impacts. Introduction to ethnobotany and the origins of agriculture. | |
Assessment: | Twelve weekly laboratory exercises to be completed in class; individual project of up to 2500 words; 2 hour end-of-semester examination. Weighting of components of assessment will be advised at the start of semester. | |
