Two sequential second-year Italian subjects (33.3 credit points) (3rd year); admission to Italian Honours School (4th year).

Three hours of lectures each week.

Content:

A description of the sounds and structures of contemporary Italian based on a close comparison with English (2 hours). Varieties of Italian (one 1-hour lecture).

Assessment:

Written assignments totalling not more than 5000 words (3rd year) / 6000 words (4th year).
