A pass in 116-295/395 Italian Part 2: Advanced Italian Language and Culture 1.

Semester 2

Contact:

A maximum of three hours of language classes and two hours of cultural/literary studies each week

Content:

Students will build on their work in the first semester. They will concentrate on further improving their skills in translation and composition by means of regular exercises. There will be regular conversation practice. Students will study an aspect of contemporary Italian culture in some depth, including the study of Italy since 1945 from both political and social perspectives.

Assessment:

One 2-hour written test. Two 1500-word essays. An oral test. Continuous assessment.
