Subject Description:

Students will build on the skills developed in Intermediate French I. By the end of the year they should be able to sustain conversations in French on topics of general interest, read and understand short but authentic texts by francophone authors, and write compositions accurately using the range of grammatical structures studied. Students who successfully complete 116-104 /274/374 Intermediate French II, will be able to proceed to 116-201 French Part 2A or 116-214 French Part 2: Language.

Assessment:

Continuous assessment (35 %); 10-minute oral (10 %); listening comprehension test (10 %); final 21/2 hour examination (45 %).
