Four or five years of secondary-school French or equivalent.

Subject Description:

Students will develop their proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening to French, through a series of classroom and laboratory exercises, emphasising effective communication. Video and audio documents as well as written texts will be studied. The course will also enrich the students' knowledge of francophone cultures.

Assessment:

Continuous assessment (35 %); 10-minute oral (10 %); listening comprehension test (10 %); final 21/2 hour examination (45 %).
