Subject Description:

A reading course in Classical Hebrew literary texts and inscriptions. The focus of this subject is on detailed linguistic analysis and interpretation of selected texts from a wide range of literatures. Students on completion of this subject should have a developed reading knowledge of Classical Hebrew, and a general knowledge of the grammar of the Semitic languages.

Assessment:

2nd and 3rd year: 3000 words of written work and 3 hours of class tests during the semester (50%). 4th year: Written work, tests and examinations totalling no more than 6000 words.
