Subject Description:

A reading course in Classical Hebrew literary texts and inscriptions, with an introduction to Hebrew as a classical Semitic language. Students on completion of this subject should have a reading knowledge of Classical Hebrew, and a broad knowledge of the place of Classical Hebrew within the Semitic language family.

Assessment:

2nd and 3rd year: 3000 words of written work and 3 hours of class tests during the semester (50%). 4th year: Written work, tests and examinations totalling no more than 6000 words.
