104-247/347 Archaeology of Greek Religion

One lecture and one two-hour seminar a week, or equivalent.

Subject Description:

The physical evidence for Greek Religion and methods of interpretation. Students on completion of the subject should have acquired an understanding of the different forms of Greek cult, a knowledge of the fundamental involvement of Greek religion in Greek society and culture, and an overview of the important modern scholars of Greek religion.

Assessment:

3000 words of written work (50%) and a 2-hour examination (50%).
