Subject Description:

The art and archaeology of the Roman Empire from Augustus to Constantine. Students on completion of the subject should have acquired an understanding of the main aspects of the art and archaeology of the Roman Empire, the evidence for the periods and the necessary skills for the interpretation of this evidence.

Assessment:

3000 words of written work (50%) and a 2-hour examination (50%).
