104-134 Introduction To Archaeology

Subject Description:

An introduction to sets of archaeological methods applied to the study of past human cultures from around the world, including the Near East, Egypt, Mesoamerica, Australia and the Pacific region. This subject investigates the basic approaches of modern archaeology with respect to how cultures and civilisations in the remote past operated, interacted and changed through time. Emphasis is placed on how archaeologists design their work to investigate questions about the past.

Assessment:

2000 words of written work (50%) and a 2-hour examination or equivalent (50%).
