705-399 Environmental Law

A series of two 90 minute sessions of lectures and tutorials a week

Subject Description:

Law of torts, including negligence, occupier's liability, nuisance, professional negligence and the duty of care. Commonwealth, State and Local Government powers and legislation relating to environmental matters. Commonwealth Environmental Legislation, the Victorian Environmental Effects Act and the Victorian Environmental Protection Act.

Assessment:

There will be two written assignments totalling not more than 4000 words (40%) and one 3-hour examination at the end of the semester (50%).
