702-630 Conservation Practice

Subject Description:

Architectural conservation practices in Australia, in relation to the major building materials, components and trades; the concepts and application of Burra Charter principles in this field. The subject involves site visits to places undergoing conservation work, and related seminars, conducted principally by practitioners.

Assessment:

A report of 10,000 words maximum, describing current practice in these areas and relating it to the state of the art practice elsewhere and to the principles of the Burra Charter and other relevant guidelines and standards.
