Subject Description:

An introduction to the history of building technology in Australia, the techniques of measuring and recording buildings, historical investigation from primary sources, conservation analyses, and the development of conservation policy for buildings and areas. The philosophy of conservation and the main avenues for researching buildings. Development of skills in the documentary and physical investigation of buildings.

Assessment:

An investigation paper and exercises (drawn and/or written) to the equivalent of not more than 7500 words.
