702-347 CAD Visualisation

Note:

Class size will be Limited to 50 places. Students will be selected on the basis of their academic record in Computers in Architecture 3, or have shown an enthusiasm and competence to study In this area.

702-323 Computers in Architecture 3 or the equivalent.

Up to 4 hours of lectures and practical work per week

Subject Description:

The course will cover a number of essential topics that are necessary for the mastery of computer visualisation techniques including: The rendering environment; boolean modelling; Working with lights and scenes: Materials and textures; Mapping techniques; Key framing; kinematics & morphing, Special effects; constructing architectural walk-throughs with an overview of post production techniques.

Assessment:

Satisfactory completion of assigned project work to the equivalent of not more than 5000 words, and participation in Visualisation studio work.
